Our greeting card #2021

Like every year for the last 5 years, I design our greeting card. This year I wanted to give it a little 50’s look.

I first made a quick sketch on procreate to set the composition and colors.

I then did a clean version, but I wasn’t happy with the rendering. I wanted it to look less clean and more like old printed paper.

I finally got the rendering I wanted.

I thought it would be even better with a garland and a gold star. So I wanted to have the cards printed at my usual supplier, but unfortunately he produces in England and because of the Brexit the customs fees make the cards too expensive.

I finally opted for a print at Moo and I don’t regret it at all. It was very easy to do. You download two files: one with the illustration and one with the gold part. We superimpose them directly on the site and we place exactly the gold where we want.

I even took the attention to detail to the extreme by ordering envelopes with red interiors that matched the card perfectly.

You can’t really see the gold on the picture, but it looks great.

All I have to do now is send them to my loved ones and a few Instagram followers I’ve been following for a while.

See you soon?
