I’ve shared the “draw this in your style” challenge a few times on the blog already.

I really enjoy trying to redesign illustrations created by illustrators that I love.

@geeksarecool on Instagram shared a new challenge (I had previously participated in two of her challenges here and here).

Here is the illustration she proposed for the Chinese New Year.

When I saw this soft bunny hat, I thought I would use felt. I have a huge box of felt in lots of different colors that I never use so I thought this would be a good opportunity. So I made a relief illustration.

I used felt for the bunny hat and some flowers and leaves in the background, string for the whiskers and ties on the sweatshirt, posca markers for the illustration. I drew the arms on a cardboard sheet and then glued them on the drawing to give relief.

It made me want to use felt more often and mix and match with different materials. Do you like it?
